Call for Entries – [Aniwow! 2025]
Celebrating 20 Years of China (Beijing) International Student Animation Festival
The Organising Committee of [Aniwow! 2025] is delighted to announce the official Call for Entries for the 20th China (Beijing) International Student Animation Festival. Marking two decades of excellence in animation, comic and illustrated book, digital arts and video game, this milestone edition will be held in October 2025 at the Communication University of China in Beijing.
Since its founding, Aniwow! has been a premier platform showcasing outstanding student works from across the globe. The 20th anniversary edition aims to honour this legacy while embracing the future of visual storytelling, with expanded competition categories and a renewed focus on emerging technologies.
This landmark edition proudly introduces two new competition categories:
· Category C: Digital Art
This category welcomes interactive and immersive digital experiences, including VR/XR works, interactive design, and short films enhanced with tools related to Artificial Intelligence. As digital aesthetics evolve and generative tools reshape creative practice, this category offers a dedicated platform for experimentation, innovation, and audience participation.
· Category D: Video Game
This new category is dedicated exclusively to video games. Entries must demonstrate original game design, strong artistic direction, and engaging user experience. It is open to works produced by students for electronic media platforms.
In addition to the new categories, [Aniwow! 2025] continues to invite submissions in the established fields of Animation (Category A) and Comic & Illustrated Book (Category B), ensuring a comprehensive showcase of student creativity across media.
Eligibility & Submission
Entries must be completed between 1 January 2024 and 31 July 2025 and created by students enrolled in higher education institutions. Collaborative projects between academic institutions and industry partners are welcome, with priority given to university-led productions.

Selected works will be showcased during the festival and have the opportunity to reach international audiences through screenings, exhibitions, and promotional events.
